Things That Go Bump......Part IV
Hi Everyone!I'm finally back at my computer.I apologize for the absence but it was unavoidable due to the happenings of the past few weeks.....
When I closed my journal last time,I promised you we would be covering the third step in any investigation......"Reviewing the Data and Physical Evidence" Next to gathering the data perhaps the most important part of any investigation is the review of the collected data and physical evidence. This was certainly the case in the investigation in Portland. We definitely had a lot of data to review for this investigation. The primary thing to remember when watching a show like "Ghost Hunters" is that you only see a few seconds or minutes of the actual reviewing process. In real time it is very time consuming to cover every picture, every second of the video and any other evidence that has been collected looking for any strange or out-of-place thing or activity. In the case of our apartment in Portland we had approximately 350- 400 images and 4 to 6 hours of video to review. We divided the review up among all of the individuals who took part in the investigation and set a goal of two weeks to finish the first review. That's right I said, "First review".
During this first review each indivdual went through all of the images and video that they had several times looking for anything out of the ordinary. Anything they found the marked for submission to the other members of the team. Phase two of the review process required the teams to review the submitted data and make finally decisions about the nature of the evidence presented. Finally each member submitted their findings and thoughts to our case manager, Tim to write a finally report. The entire review process take us about three weeks and is very thorough because we don't want to make any mistakes. As my Grandfather says," 'The Truth is in the Data.' is not just a statement, it is the guiding ideal by which we all carry out our activities."
...Thanks for dropping by.....next time....."Assemblying the Findings and Writing the Report.....See You Then...JP!!
